Gladbeck Zweckel
Apart from the Emscher Valley Railway from Dortmund, the Der Borkener regional train service from Essen also stops at Gladbeck Zweckel. The railway line now has two tracks, and the trains come and go a little more frequently.
Three older passengers were only too happy to have their pictures taken for the arts project – »That’s what we’re like, us Zweckauers.«


Starboard and port marks for side channels
Safe water. These buoys are positioned on the starboard or port side of the main channel and on the port or starboard side of the side channel. Starboard marks have a red lateral stripe, and port marks have a green lateral stripe. Any top-mark will be a green cone on a starboard buoy or a red cylinder on a port buoy.
